Babies and Dogs in The House

It probably crosses your mind when you own a dog and you’re expecting a baby to arrive or you already have that little fella in the house. In most cases, some families would want to bring their pets in shelter houses for quite some time because they are worried if it could harm their baby. Well, the good thing is you can have a baby and a dog in the house provided that you know some precautions before this happens.

Your dog is already a part of your family and you don’t want him to feel isolated when baby comes in. Make sure you don’t have divided attention for both because even animals feel lonely when they feel they are not being cared like you used to. Spend some time the usual way like daily walks and dog plays.

Your fur family will find it strange when a new face is inside the house. It would be helpful if you introduce your baby to your dog in a manner that you don’t shock him, especially when the baby cries too loud. It will make him feel afraid and discouraged to go near towards your child.

Let your dog sniff around the baby’s room so that he can associate the smell of your baby. It can also help if you bring some guests and babies in your house for your dog to be accustomed with people. Don’t leave your baby unsupervised even if you know your dog so well.

There are many other ways you can create a starting bond between your dog and your baby. If you can make your dog get used to your baby and vice versa, you won’t worry too much of getting your dog isolated in the family.
